Who

Monica Joan Mullen

Monica has been following sound all of her life. Whether listening to music, dancing or playing the ukulele, it has been a source of joy for her. But it wasn’t until after striking her first singing bowl in December 2019 that she felt a calling. Monica was magnetized to the enveloping sound and she began following the soundwaves like a path.

Through a series of magical events she acquired more bowls, began to practice on people and then sound practitioner/teacher, Lana Ryder, recognized that she “was meant to do this” and gave Monica private lessons in 2020. Monica eventually completed a private one-on-one 6 month sound practitioner certification course with Lana in March 2022. Lana introduced her to Alexandre Tannous’ teachings which expanded her understanding of sound. Monica completed a 100 hour sound facilitator training in March of 2021 with Alexandre, David Shamesh and Christiane Karam. Monica continues to expand her knowledge with continuing education of sound with teachers such as Mitch Nur and Mike Tamburo. She has expanded her studies into the realm of vibrational radiesthesia and BioGeometry through the Vesica Institute, which compliments sound therapy. Monica transitioned to a full time sound practitioner in October of 2021. She began co-teaching classes with Lana in 2022 and has just been named (July 2024) the Advanced Sound teacher at the Soundwise School of Harmonic Therapy in Lancaster, pa, offering continued education for her graduates.

Inspired by the various elements that can be interwoven with sound therapy, she began developing her own intuitive sound sessions individualized for the receiver(s) of the sound to connect deeply to the experience. Monica also infuses other energy modalities like Quantum touch and vibrational Radiesthesia into her private and group sound sessions. Her passion for spiritual growth fuels her passion to continue learning, practicing, developing new techniques and acquiring instruments for a unique sensory experience, and to deepen the awareness of the listeners in ways applicable to life.  In addition to offering private and group sessions for the community and corporate events, she teaches classes on meditation techniques or other training exercises to help the development of spiritual growth.

In addition to finding joy in sound therapy, Monica delights in being immersed in nature, cathedrals & museums, as well as delving in deep conversations, creating art in various forms and studying esoteric topics that inspire love and evoke the feeling of awe. She loves wandering the charming streets of Lancaster and inspiring others to practice finding joy and finding their center.
